Other Product Options:

These selections are available tabs when editing a product. They would apply to all product variants of that product.

Manufacturer mappings – Allows you to add a manufacturer name to your item and provide grouping by manufacturer.

Create the manufacturer name under Catalog->Manufacturers. After the product is assigned to the manufacturer, the manufacture name will show on the public product display page. When the manufacturer name is clicked, it will display a list of all products that have the same manufacturer name assigned.

Related products – Allows you to specify other products that will be displayed at the bottom of the product display page.

Cross-sells - Allows you to specify other products that will be displayed at the bottom of the checkout screen.

Specification attributes – Allows you to specify the exact specs of your product for easy display to customers. Often used with more complex items such as computers or electronics where comparisons of exact specs are critical to purchasing decisions.

First, create the Specification Attributes under Catalog->Attributes->Specification Attributes. For example, for laptops, you might create an attribute called Screen Size with Options of 10”, 12”, 15.4” and 17”. Then go to the product’s Specification Attributes tab and select which specific attribute (screen size) should be associated with your product. After the product is assigned to the attribute, these specifications will show, if ‘Show on public page’ is selected, on the public product display page in a grid for easy viewing.

ACL – Allows you to restrict access to particular types of users. Your product would display only to those that are selected. (Note: this restriction is also available on a per category basis)

SEO – Allows you to specify additional keywords or description that will be added to the meta data which promote higher search engine results. Meta title would override the existing page title, which defaults to the name of the product.
