Getting Started with GiftLocal in your organization

1.	Login to your database.

2.	Click the Gift Card module in the left-hand menu.

3.	On the Overview tab, scroll to the bottom and click Opt in now to get started.

4.	Upload your logo on the next screen (if not already uploaded), agree to the terms and conditions and click Create GiftCard Program.

5.	Complete the Association and Account Information requested.

Note: Card Design graphics must be approved by Giftcards.com before your account will be ready to use. This process takes about 24-48 hours for approval. You can upload your card designs now or come back later. Approval will still be required if uploaded at a later time. Recommended graphic size is 500 x 250 pixels

The contact name given on the Account information is the person will administer the account. This name can be changed at any time at http://partners.giftcards.com.

Password must be minimum 8 characters with at least 1 upper case and 1 lower case letter. Accepted image file types are .jpg, jpeg, .gif, and .png.

6.	Select “I agree with all of the Terms …” checkbox.

7.	Click Complete Signup.

What happens after completing your signup and your account is approved?

A welcome email will be sent when your account is approved.

If card images are uploaded at the same time, then a single approval email will be sent indicating account, logo and image approval. If card images are loaded at a later time, then a separate email will be sent after the card images are approved in addition to the original approval email.

Your association now has your own Gift Cards website page where consumers can purchase your association gifts cards that are good at all members that accept Discover Card. Members from the nine specific categories are promoted on this landing page.

You will have access directly to this page on the GiftCards->GiftLocal tab. Click Buy Your Community Card button.

Search for your association name on www.giftcards.com to find your personal gift card landing page. Example: http://www.giftcards.com/apple-valley-chamber-of-commerce-gift-cards-apple-valley-ca

Note: Designs on these cards are from one of your 5 uploaded images. Your uploaded card design images must be approved by Giftcards.com before they will be available as card designs. You will receive notification from Giftcards.com once approved. If no images are uploaded by you, then default images will be provided. Login to upload your card images at http://partners.giftcards.com.

To assist your members in knowing that they have this new gift card program available, turn on the banner ad in their Member Information Center. In addition, make sure the “Buy a Gift Card” button is turned on next to their name in your online public business directory. Turn on these program settings on the Giftcards->Settings tab.
